Resolution for the LaserJet 2600n is up to 600 x600 dots per inch (dpi) for black and color prints, with a 16 MB memory for handling its printing tasks and a 264 MHz processor that is powerful enough to accomplish complex printing tasks. Print language is host-based, using a PC connected to the LaserJet 2600n for its power and resources to accomplish the print job at hand. Font support is for internal pages and ASCII, with typefaces based on fonts installed on host computer.

Connectivity for the LaserJet 2600n features USB support as well as Ethernet, with print drivers available as host-based. The LaserJet 2600n is also able to support Windows and Mac environments, with available Windows platforms such as Windows 98, Me (driver only), SE, Windows 2000, Server 2003, XP Home and Windows Professional. With the LaserJet 2600n’s dimensions set at 16.02 x 17.83 x 14.6 inches and weight at approximately 40 pounds, the LaserJet 2600n is a compact and lightweight laser color printer compared to others offered by other brands.

CONS:

As a color laser printer, the LaserJet 2600n is quite consistent, especially when it comes to its printing speed. However, such speeds are quite low compared to other laser printers in the market, for both monochrome and color print outs. Also, the LaserJet 2600n’s color quality is mediocre at best when based on comparisons on the quality that other printers in its class provide. Another downside with the LaserJet 2600n is its expensive toner, costing up to $250 dollars for its color cartridge package and up to $300 if each color is bought individually. While the LaserJet 2600n provides USB connectivity, it does not ship with its own USB cable, so users would have to have their own to be able to utilize this connectivity feature of the LaserJet 2600n.
