Editor's Pros & Cons
PROS: The Xerox Phaser 8860 MFP will print, copy, fax, and scan with color documents up to 30 pages per minute and black documents up to a fast 30 pages per minute; this is approximately five seconds per page. The copy print resolution of 2400 FinePoint exhibits high-quality. The printer incorporates a 40 Giga Byte hard drive and 750 Mega Hertz processor. The max copy resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch would satisfy the normal print job. The printer is 20.9 inches in width, 26.2 inches in depth, 24.4 inches in height, and 94 pounds. It is a little cumbersome but will fit on a desktop that has a moderate foundation of structure. The connections can be achieved by a USB 2.0 line or 10/100Base-TX Ethernet.
Replacing ink cartridges is fairly straightforward. All you need to do is drop the stick of ink in the keyed slots, and you are good to go. The ink cartridges, virtually spill-free, can be topped off when the ink becomes low. The solid ink supply weighs less than laser cartridges and the solid inks will produce 10 times the amount of paper from laser cartridges.
The maximum capacity of the 1st tray is 100 sheets. For tray two, the maximum capacity of 525 sheets is admirable. The recommended duty cycle of 120,000 pages per month clearly expresses the durability and reliability of production. The warranty for the Xerox printer will be a standard of one-year. The flexibility of the printer is optional with two additional 525 sheet feeders. A cart can be added for extra storage capacity. If the standard memory is not enough, the printer memory can be upgraded an additional 512 Mega Bytes or 256 Mega Bytes; a 40 Giga Byte hard drive productivity kit can be added.
The fax transmission speed of 33.5 Kilo Bytes Per Second is pretty standard with a 400 x 400 dots per inch resolution. For speed dials, there are 200 individual settings with 100 group settings. The fax features a LAN fax, Delay Send, Secure Fax, Auto Suppression, and Fax to multiple addresses. After a scan of a document, the document can be edited, indexed and archived. The Xerox PrintingScout technology will notify the end-user when a print job has encountered an error or needs attention. One can find out the status of their job and access accounting information through the web server. CONS: The Xerox Phaser 8860MFP, priced around 2,500-5,000 is quite expensive for a limited printer. The printer exhibits sloth in the quality of graphic documents. Unfortunately, to get the duplex-equipped model, one has to shell out an additional $100. Some users may find the rate of prints in text documents to be slow. Customer Reviews For Xerox Phaser 8860MFP

INK/TONER NEEDS:
The solid ink cartridges comprises of vegetables oils and natural substances. The ink is incapable of spilling or smudging on clothes. The solid ink significantly reduces cost, which is one of the barriers between users and everyday printing. The printer has no downtime while users replace the ink because the ink cartridges can be simply dropped and loaded. The printer utilizes a shape for the ink cartridges, because of the shapes, it is unlikely for someone to put in the wrong cartridge. In a fast and busy environment, people do not always pay attention to what ink goes where. |
